A few hours ago, I received word that my uncle passed away. We had just finished our visit with him at the Skilled Nursing Home. I had just dropped off my aunt at her home, and was on the freeway to take my mother home when my mother's older brother called to say that their brother had passed away. So we headed back to the Skilled Nursing Home to meet with my uncle and aunt. After talking with the nurses and the doctor, and the pastor, and signing the release forms, and saying goodbye one last time, I finally dropped off my mother. Heading back to the freeway to head for home I fired up my Dell DJ, and the first song was
Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
It seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
It's not always gonna be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this my love is up and must be leaving
It's not always gonna be this grey
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So I must be on my way
To face another day
Now darkness only stays the nighttime
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always gonna be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
--George Harrison
I had to laugh, for what else could I do.
